Getting Started With AUX
Introducing AUX — a new social network where the algorithm is shaped by us. It’s a curation of the best content of the moment. Together, we separate the signal from the noise, breaking the Internet content that's worth the world's attention.
How it works
- Post any link.
- Earn ATTN for the upvotes you get.
- Each link expires after 48 hours.
- Spend your ATTN on the links that you think are worth people’s eyeballs.
- The link with the most ATTN grabs the AUX and is featured on the Mainstage.
The Mainstage
Once your post gets the most ATTN, it goes live on the Mainstage. It gets exclusive real estate and airtime as the first thing people see when they open the app. You are notified each time a new link grabs the AUX.
Posts currently stay live on the AUX Mainstage until another link takes your spot, moving you down the Mainstage feed (swipe left). You lose the AUX:
- When another link earns more ATTN or
- When your link has reached the maximum onstage time (currently 4 hours).
Think about the AUX Mainstage as a timeline of Internet Culture Breaking News. Every post featured on the Mainstage will be saved to the Blockchain and forever immortalized in Internet History.
Voting
Voting with your ATTN is how we curate the content in AUX. Simply, upvote the links that you like and want to push to Mainstage. Each upvote costs 1 ATTN, goes straight to the original poster, and moves the content up the ranks. You can only vote for each link once and you cannot vote on any of your own links.
Leaderboard
Curators are ranked according to their ATTN.
Notifications
A big part of AUX is reacting to what is happening in real time. Make sure you approve notifications, when you install the app or go back and approve them inside your phone's notifications settings.
